Tropical Storm Dorian has strengthened slightly over the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
As of Thursday morning, the system was about 700 miles west of the Cape Verde Islands, with maximum sustained winds of 60 miles per hour, moving west-northwest at 17 miles per hour.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 60 miles from the center of the storm.
No coastal watches or warnings are in effect.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.
